• Restorative Periodic Maintenance: We recommend retrieving the tapestry or summoning our textile expert once every 5 years for a professional “deep-cleaning and fiber revitalization” process to restore the natural bounce of the virgin wool and the luster of the Mulberry silk against environmental dryness.
• Professional Structural Restoration: In the event that the tapestry suffers an accidental domestic injury (such as structural cuts, minor burns, or pet damage), the studio offers a highly precise restoration service executed by the master weavers who originally crafted the piece. Using yarns from the historical original dye lots, they will restore the masterpiece to its pristine state without leaving any visible or tactile trace.
• Financial and Artistic Appraisal: We provide our patrons with a complimentary artistic appraisal service every 3 years to update the official market valuation of the tapestry for international insurance updates, estate planning, or secondary global auction listings.

Strict Environmental Warnings

• Direct Sunlight: It is strictly prohibited to hang the piece on a wall facing direct sunlight or unshaded windows. Ultraviolet (UV) rays cause natural organic dyes to fade, dry out the fibers, and cause structural brittleness over time.
• Ambient Humidity and Air Conditioning: Displaying the tapestry in high-humidity areas (such as kitchens or adjacent to bathrooms) or directly underneath or in front of air conditioning vents (AC Vents) must be avoided to prevent mildew formation or degradation of the structural back-lining.
• Direct Heat Sources: To preserve the integrity of the natural fibers against dryness and slow heat degradation, the distance between the tapestry and any direct thermal source (such as space heaters or wood-burning stoves) must not be less than 1.5 meters.

Care & Preservation Protocol

• Luxury Periodic Cleaning: Weekly maintenance is limited to removing surface dust using an ultra-soft brush made of genuine ostrich feathers or a clean, broad artist’s paintbrush.
• Vacuum Cleaner Usage: A vacuum cleaner may be used with extreme caution (once every two months) on the lowest possible suction setting, utilizing the specialized soft-bristle attachment designed for curtains and delicate fabrics. Movement must be executed gently in the direction of the pile flow, never against it.
• Emergency Spill Management: In the event of an accidental liquid spill, a clean, dry, white cotton cloth must be pressed immediately and firmly onto the affected area to absorb the liquid (never rub, scrub, or wipe in circles, as this permanently spreads the stain into the fiber pores). The use of commercial bleaches or detergents is strictly forbidden; instead, contact the studio’s specialist conservationist immediately.
• Safe Long-Term Storage Protocol: Should storage become necessary, never fold, crease, or compress the artwork, as this will fracture the linen foundation. The correct method is to roll the artwork into a cylinder (Roll) with the woven pile surface facing inward. The rolled cylinder must then be wrapped in a breathable, porous cotton cloth (the use of plastic, nylon, or bubble wrap is strictly prohibited) and stored horizontally in a dry, cool environment completely elevated off the floor.
